A note on branding
What is branding?
Your branding, also known as your visual identity, distinguishes you from other organisations with a unique design. Your visual identity is more than "just a logo", it includes (but is not limited to) fonts, illustrations, colour scheme, imagery, and how these work together to visually represent your organisation.
A visual identity is sometimes called your 'visual language' which helps to explain how your branding should work. Your branding communicates who you are, on your behalf, to your chosen customer/target audience. You can explain these things through fonts, colours and images as we look at how fonts can speak with a tone of voice, and work using colour theory to know
which colours are best for your organisation.
Why is it important?
First impressions count! If people see a clear and cohesive
brand message they'll know that speaks to the rest of your organisation, and therefore can put their trust in you.
With so much visual stimuli in todays culture it's important to make sure to keep up with todays methods of communication. Whether it be through social media or print advertisement, it
all comes down to a visual identity. Wherever you place your organisation name, logo or banner it needs to catch people's eyes in a very busy and distracted world. Identities that speak from your heart and honestly show who you are and what you can do are drawing people in as they look for authentic, real people and companies to connect with.
